Redfish Advertising of Tulsa, Okla., installed two 19mm digital billboards manufactured by Watchfire Digital Outdoor. Redfish owner, Dax Neal, selected his digital billboards from Watchfire because the displays are more vivid and look better than the competition's.
Watchfire Digital Outdoor became the industry's first digital billboard manufacturer to surpass 100 customers with the installation of nine digital billboards in Grand Rapids, Mich. GR Outdoor has installed the 19mm boards on all major highways feeding into Grand Rapids: M-6, US-131 and US-196. GR Outdoor installed two of the boards side-by-side in front of Fifth Third Ballpark, home to year-round events including minor league baseball, outdoor concerts, festivals and tournaments.
One of Watchfire's original customers, Land Displays, now has five Watchfire digital billboards with the addition of a new 19mm board on Route 422 in Reading, Pa. Owner, Jim Landrigan, is a pioneer in the digital billboard industry. After buying digital billboards from other manufacturers, Landrigan has bought exclusively from Watchfire since 2007 because of our quality and service.
Patrick Lyons, president of Premier Media, expects his Watchfire billboards to be almost fully leased by September, and is enlisting both local and national advertisers. "This is an A+ location in the entertainment and music capital of the south," he said. "Advertiser interest is high."
Conventional wisdom says that digital billboards are best suited for high traffic areas around cities, where advertising rates can justify the cost of the boards. However, independent operators all over the United States are installing digital billboards in small towns and advertisers are fighting for display space.
