Innovative Dental, Springfield, MO

Innovative Dental, a Springfield, Mo.-based cosmetic dental practice with a worldwide following, expanded from a 5,500 sq. ft. facility to a 29,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art practice featuring 16 operatories with room for 15 more.

Unlike the average dental office, Innovative Dental’s two-story facility features a relaxing water garden with fountains, ponds, and fish, along with treatment suites with balconies. The facility also includes interior and exterior digital displays by Watchfire Signs.

Knowing his dental office would be a destination for patients, Dr. Grant Olson wanted the signage to create a similarly grand experience. After seeing brilliant-looking LED displays at trade shows, Olson decided to go big on his digital signage. Olson worked with nearby Springfield Sign to design a 40-foot tall pylon sign that includes a back-to-back 16’ x 9’ exterior digital sign manufactured by Watchfire Signs. The sign is located in the Innovative Dental parking lot and is positioned to be visible to drivers traveling both north and south on busy Highway 44.

Springfield Sign partnered with Watchfire to create the exterior signage. “Dr. Olson has created a unique dental practice, and he needed a sign that showcased this,” said Trey Watts, vice president of sales for Springfield Sign. “We’ve installed hundreds of Watchfire signs across the country because they are beautiful and work reliably.”

The sign is used to display emotional videos of people smiling, with the bottom third of the display showcasing social media messages about the practice. At night, the sign displays captivating videos, including a breathtaking image of a landscape with snowfall during the holidays.

At the same time, Watts learned that Olson was also planning a two-story-tall digital sign made of stacked high-definition televisions for the glass-front atrium of the practice. So, in addition to the double-faced, 8mm Watchfire exterior sign he also worked with Springfield Sign on enhancing the front of the building with a 27-foot-tall-by-16-foot-wide, 2.4mm Watchfire interior display inside the atrium.

“We told him we could instead provide one big, seamless video wall,” says Watts. The high-resolution Watchfire lobby display, viewable from the highway, delivers a bright picture even in direct sunlight, something that stacked televisions wouldn’t be able to do. “The 2.4mm resolution means that the picture looks great whether the viewer is standing five feet away or seeing it from the freeway,” said Watts.
